Betty Bryan, 29 as she always told everyone, Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at the Skaggs Community Hospital, Branson, Missouri. Born in Brocton, Illinois on October 3, 1940, she was the daughter of Homer Wendel and Katherine (Hagen) Wendel. Betty was a graduate of Newton Community High School – Class of 1958. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hunt City Christian Church. Her hobbies included collecting dolls; shopping for clothes; traveling; she loved country music and she was an avid fan of Jeff Gordon and Nascar fan.
On May 15, 1958, she married Robert Maynard Bryan, who survives. Also surviving are five children, Robert Allen & Diane Bryan, Rhonda K. & Mark Spitzer, Kevin Ray & Penny Bryan, Kimberly & Greg Allard and Katharina & Rod Levitt; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Wendel and Dale Wendel; one sister, Kathy Huddleston; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Erica Spitzer.
Phil Boyd will officiate the funeral service. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
